Description
The project envisages the construction of approximately 650 km of high voltage transmission line, with associated substations, from San Pedro (Côte d'Ivoire) to Buchanan (Liberia) through Greenville (Liberia)
Objective
To augment transmission capacity for power exchanges between Côte d'Ivoire and Liberia and beyond.
Project Status
The project is in its preparation phase that shall involve a Line Route and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Study as well as a Feasibility Study and Preparation of Bidding Documents in order to establish the techno-economic and financial viability of the project as well as its environmental and social impacts. Procurement is ongoing on the Line Route and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Study and this is expected to conclude in October 2021. The estimated cost of these pre-investment studies is US $ 3,427,993 and a funding gap of US $ 258,349 exists with regards to the Feasibility Study and Preparation of Bidding Documents.
